Frequently Asked Questions
How many acres can it spray in an hour?
The DJI AGRAS T50 can spray up to 40 acres/hr at a 2 gallons per acre application rate. Additional flight parameters: Speed: 23ft/s; Height: 10ft; Payload: 10.5 gallons; Swath Width: 32ft;
What about dry spreading?
The DJI AGRAS T50 can spread up to 40 acres/hr at a 14 pound per acre application rate. Additional flight parameters: Speed: 23ft/s; Height: 10ft; Payload: 19.5 gallons/110lbs; Swath Width: 23ft approximately;
How many refills are necessary per hour?
At an application rate of 2 gallons per acre, you can expect 6-8 refills per hour. Similar for dry spreading at 14 pounds per acre.
What is the swath width when spraying with the DJI AGRAS T50?
Most applications will have between 30-32 ft. swath width.
How large is the tank on the DJI AGRAS T50?
The liquid tank on the DJI AGRAS T50 can carry 10.5 gallons and approximately 88lbs. The dry tank can hold up to 110lbs at a 19 gallon volume.
How long does the batteries last?
Batteries will last about 8-10 minutes. We recommend swapping batteries every time the drone comes back for a refill. 3 to 4 batteries ensure you have continuous operations.
What kind of generator do I need to get started?
Any 10,000 running watt generator should be enough to get started with 50 amp plugs. Our recommendation is the Westinghouse WGEN14500 14.5kW.
What kind of licenses do I need to operate a sprayer drone?
You'll need:
- FAA Part 107 - Drone Pilot's License
- FAA Part 137 - Aerial Applicator's License
- Section 44807 Exemption - Exemption to operate drones over 55lbs.
- State Applicator's License (may use the same one you may already have)
- FAA 3rd Class Medical (for night flying)
AckerSpray's compliance manager can help you obtain all of these licenses with our Done-For-Your UAV Compliance Services.
Can I operate multiple drones at the same time?
Yes, you can. However, to do so you'll need to get a permission from the FAA allowing you to swarm (Swarm exemption). Our compliance manager can petition for this and other exemptions for you.
How difficult is it to operate a DJI Agriculture Drone?
DJI Agras drones are fully autonomous drones, meaning the operator only sets flight parameters and the drones fly and spray on their own. Most customers of ours learn how to operate in just one day with our training class (see below).
What comprises the training class?
We offer comprehensive, hands-on operations training, designed to get you comfortable and confident flying the drone in a full-day of instruction. Our trainers will travel to you, anywhere in the US.
What comes with the package?
The package comes with everything you need to get started (please, see the package items above). We have options with and without a Westinghouse 14.5kW Generator.
How much does the package cost?
Our Ready-to-Fly Packages start at just under $30,000 and go all the way up to $38,000. Request a quote below and we'll customize it for your specific needs.
